17-year-olds with a Danish driving licence can now drive an electric shared car
Just got your driving licence as a 17-year-old? Then you can sign up for GreenMobility and drive our Renault Zoe cars between 05:00 am and 20:00 pm. This makes it easy to get to school, work, friends, and appointments.
As a 17-year-old, you need a valid Danish driving licence and consent from a parent or guardian. Once you have signed up in the app, you will receive an email with a link to the consent form, which your parent or guardian must sign with MitID.

Freedom on four wheels with clear rules
As a 17-year-old, you can use GreenMobility for school, work, sports, friends and other everyday trips. For now, you can only drive our Renault Zoe cars. Once your profile has been approved, you can find, reserve and open the car directly in the app. You can drive between 05:00 and 20:00, the same time period set by the Danish Road Traffic Act for independent driving by 17-year-olds. With GreenMobility, you cannot drive between 20:00 and 05:00, regardless of whether an adult is in the car or not. Every time you open the app, you must read and confirm a reminder about the rules.
How much does it cost to rent a car as a 17-year-old?
You pay the same prices as GreenMobility’s other private customers. Insurance, charging and parking within the zone are included according to our standard terms.

Frequently asked questions about GreenMobility for 17-year-olds
Can a 17-year-old sign up without help from their parents?
You can download the app yourself, create a profile and add your driving licence. However, your profile can only be approved once a parent or guardian has signed the consent form with MitID.
Can an adult other than my parents sign the consent form?
The consent must be given by a person who is your parent or legal guardian. Another adult, such as a family friend, teacher or older sibling, cannot sign on your behalf unless that person is registered as your guardian.
What happens if I am already driving when it gets close to 20:00?
As a 17-year-old, you must plan your trip so that it is completed no later than 20:00. Your access to start a trip will be blocked from 19:45, but this does not change the fact that the car must be parked correctly and the trip must be ended before 20:00.
Can I reserve a car before 19:45 and start the trip later?
No. You are not allowed to start or complete a trip outside the permitted time period. A reservation does not allow you to bypass the time limit.
Can a 17-year-old drive GreenMobility without an adult in the car?
Yes. Once your profile has been approved, you may drive alone between 05:00 and 20:00. After 20:00, you cannot drive our electric cars, even if you have an adult with you as a passenger.
Can I bring friends in the car as a 17-year-old?
Yes, you may bring passengers as long as the car is used in accordance with traffic rules and GreenMobility’s terms. As the driver, you are responsible for the driving, the car and the safety of your passengers.
Can a friend or family member drive on my account?
No. The account and approved driver profile are personal. Others are not allowed to log in to your account or drive a car rented through your profile. If this happens, it will result in a fee, which can be found on the price page.
Who pays if the car is damaged?
The person who created and uses the account is responsible under GreenMobility’s applicable terms. It is therefore important that you and your parent or guardian read the rules on insurance, excess, damage and correct use of the car before the consent form is signed.
Do I need to register damage to the car if it was already there?
Yes. Check the car before starting your trip and register any visible damage according to the instructions in the app. This helps document that the damage was there before you started driving.
What happens if there is no Renault Zoe nearby?
As a 17-year-old, you can currently only choose the Renault Zoe, which is the vehicle type we have the most of in the app.
Can I drive GreenMobility outside the city?
You may drive outside GreenMobility’s zone, but as a general rule, the trip can only be ended in an approved location within the zone. You must also make sure that you can get back and end the trip before 20:00.
What happens to my profile when I turn 18?
When you turn 18, the special rules for 17-year-olds will no longer apply, and you can use our service as usual with access to more vehicle types.
