GreenMobility’s Team: Our perfect day with a Green

The GreenMobility team regularly works on location, which allows us to get to know Antwerp and Ghent better. We each have our favorite places to visit, and we would like to share those with you. See what the team of GreenMobility has to say about our perfect day with a ‘Green’:

The perfect start

My perfect day with a Green starts in the weekend. At my house, weekend means bread rolls for breakfast, so I quickly check the app to see if there’s a car nearby. I’m lucky to have a GreenMobility Hotspot near my home, because there is always a car there! I buy a day package – who knows what else the day will bring – and drive to the bakery.

After our bread roll brunch we’ve eaten plenty, so it’s time for a long hike. Luckily, my day package is still running, so we can immediately take a car and drive to Brussels. We park at the Sonian Forest, put on our hiking boots and off we go!

We leave the rest of our stuff in the car, which we have put in stopover. After a brisk walk, our stomachs of course start growling again. That is why we get something from our favorite take-away on our way back home: Kapitein Zeppos! Upon arrival, we simply put the Green back at the Hotspot – don’t forget to put it in the charger – and slide our feet under the table!

Breakfast in the city, dinner at sea

For me, the perfect day starts with a tasty breakfast in Ghent, in one of its cosy coffee bars. Then we stroll through the Koestraat, take a quick bite for lunch and afterwards we drive to Nieuwvliet – my favorite spot by the sea. As Nieuwvliet is not on the Belgian coast, but on the Dutch coast, we have to drive twenty minutes away from the Belgian border. That is why GreenMobility is the right choice for my trips.

“Nothing is as relaxing as walking barefoot, breathing in fresh air and the sound of waves crashing.”.

Once we arrive in Nieuwvliet, we take a long walk along the beach. You have to admit, nothing is as relaxing as walking barefoot, breathing in fresh air and the sound of waves crashing. Dinner on the beach at sunset? Yes, baby! We go to the beach pavilion ‘De Boekanier’ for a delicious bite and a lovely view. After a romantic dinner, we return to Ghent, where we can leave the car anywhere within the zone. What a luxury, right?

An early streetrunner morning

Early in the morning at half past 5, when it is still super dark and a tad cold, I’ve already started working, maintaining the cars in Antwerp. Then I usually drive around with a Green myself to clean and charge the other cars. I continue my work until the sun comes up; then I usually start to get hungry: Time for breakfast!

I prefer to drive to snack bar Marrakesh near the Stuivenberg hospital for a good sandwich. I often bring some soup or yoghurt with me as well, to relax and wake up some more. At the end of my shift, I drive a Green back to the office so the next streetrunner can take over work.

A day trip to Ghent

Because I live in a smaller village myself, I mostly use GreenMobility for my day trips to the city. On my perfect day with a Green I travel to Ghent for a day trip. I will take a Green near the train station and pick up two friends from Ghent. We park as close to the city center as possible and the stroll through the shopping streets. We take a picture at the werregarenstraat – Ghent’s famous graffiti street – and then it’s time for lunch.

Now we’ve eaten plenty of lunch at the Greenway at the Nederkouter, we drive on to thé touristic activity: A boat tour between the historical buildings of Ghent. After an instructive trip through the waters of Ghent, it’s time to warm up with a cup of tea in a cozy café.

We end this eventful day right, with a spaghetti bolognese from Bavet – My favorite spaghetti restaurant. When everyone has been dropped off at home again, I park the Green as close as possible to Gent-Sint-Pieters station to take my train home. Talk about a perfect day…
